Our Patent Strategy: Innovation at Fair Prices

Last updated: July 22, 2026

We believe in fair pricing and listening to customers because too often, these are neglected.

Takeaways

As North America’s largest supplier of recessed lighting components, we’ve developed many patented products. Our lighting products are used in thousands of OEM lighting fixtures.

So, how do we do this? By actively listening to our customers. Whether they are voicing concerns about existing components or suggesting new product ideas. This feedback fuels innovation.

Our goal is clients for life. That’s what fuels our patent strategy:

  1. It’s in our company’s DNA to solve our client’s problems at the lowest possible cost.
  2. To offer our components at greater value. This enables our clients to sell more and thus buy more from us, covering R&D costs.
  3. We only charge what we need to to make a profit.
  4. To deter copycats. We keep our margins modest, encouraging them to copy overpriced products elsewhere.

In short, we see it as good business.

As this subject is vast, this TriparTech will focus on the principal varieties of steel strip (coil) and sheets and their uses in thicknesses up to 3/16” thick; what Tripar generally uses. Thicknesses above 3/16” are considered plates.
